English Bulldog / American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
Gorgeous young Bulldog in need of TENDER LOVING CARE. Read to the end. Applications being taken. Click on 'adopt' and complete application. Ember was surrendered due to health issues of her owner. Her breed was stated as English Bulldog but she does not have papers and appears to have traits of the American Bulldog. Regardless of the specific breed, Ember will need an owner that is familiar with the health issues of Bulldogs. Ember is a lover, very affectionate. She has 2 speeds, full on and resting. She tires easily after high energy play, watch her video below. Ember loves to have whole body massages, she tolerates baths, she thinks she is small and wants to get into your lap. Walks well on leash but can pull if she sees another animal. Will need heavy duty toys and beds. At only 7 months, she is solid-heavy. As for children, she loves them but she was not corrected about jumping up on people. Her owner was knocked down on several occations by Ember's excited activity and was a primary part of the reason for her surrender. We believe that Ember will do best in a home as an ONLY PET. She does play hard with other similar sized dogs, but with brachycephalic syndrome (smushed nose) her breathing is impaired and can over heat quickly. She snores loudly and can be heard over 30 feet away. Previously, Ember was left all day in a crate (over 10 hours) and she now has some separation anxiety. So her forever home will need to have only short periods of her being crated or left alone. She does BARK and CRY when she is left, so not a good fit for apartment living unless owner is mostly stay at home or takes her when they leave. She will dig if left alone in yard.
