Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Small
Another Spring semester ends at the local university and as the students leave, little dogs are surrendered to Animal Control.
Otis is just a super spoiled pop that was bought by a student and realized they could not truly care for it. This guy doesn't appear to have been abused in any way but it was also not vetted prior to coming to the shelter. Reason for surrender was "barking". He does have some anxiety when left alone and he is a breed known to bark.... a lot! He gets very excited about cats, so probably needs a home that doesn't have those or that the cats are very dog savvy. Other dogs........he gets along with simlilar sized or small dogs. He has no fear of big dogs and has a Napoléon attitude thinking he is just as big and bad as they are. Otis loves toys and chasing around a room but when he gets tired, he loves to snuggle. We have been working on housetraining but while he has been quarentined until all shots are given, not much progress. This breed has been know to be stubborn regarding housetraining, takes dedication on part of owner. After spending some time in a home with young children, it has been determined that he does NOT DO WELL WITH YOUNG CHILDREN.
