Australian Shepherd : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
Kelli was found in the country several miles from any town. The farm that she strayed to had other large outside dogs and she was not welcomed by them. We are not sure about her past but she wants to be allowed inside the home. She readily finds a comfortable chair or couch and curls up and rests.
Kelli barks at most other dogs and shows some dominance when other dogs comes near. She is young and we have only had her a few weeks. At this time we are looking for a home where she would be an only dog. We believe that with experienced handling, Kelli could be introduced to other dogs and will be social. But she has had a rough few weeks or months and is not ready to trust other dogs yet. She is great with people, friendly immediately and sits quietly at your feet waiting for love. Kelli leads fairly well and gets better each time we go out. She loads into a vehicle and likes to be in the passenger seat where she stays with no restraints. The vet believes that she is pure Australian Shepherd as no other traits are noted, but since she is a stray we cannot guarantee this. She does have a docked tail but still has her back dewclaws. Kelli is fully vetted, all shots up to date and she is now spayed. Ready for a forever home!
