Manchester Terrier / Mixed : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Small
Frankie was captured after running loose in a rural housing area. She had no collar or microchip and attempts to locate owner were not successful.
Frankie wants to be a companion dog with most of her day accompanied with people. She wants to be next to someone and does show some anxiety when left alone. At night she cuddles when not in her crate. She will wiggle her way behind you in office chair, she lays next to lounger if not allowed to be on lap. Wherever you go, there she is. May need to add a caution about getting under foot at times. This can be addressed with training, but for now, she is clingy ... Her breed selection is "Best Guess". She may have some Chihuahua, maybe Miniture Pinsher or one of the many types of terriers. Her body frame and coloring were characteristics of the Manchester Terrier. We do believe she is full grown but may put on a little more weight now that she is spayed. We have worked on crate training and she does start out with some barking. With patience and firm committment, she should do well in crate if needed. She has not gotten into things around house, so not a chewer or digger when outside in foster care. Frankie has been very excited to play with other small dogs in her home. She especially likes Johnnie, the small Red Heeler. They play tug on the squeeker toys and chase each other until exhausted. She also gets along with the cats. She has met and laid down with the older cats and was very curious with the kittens. No aggression on her part while supervised.
