Oreo was surrendered when his single owner was moving to a no-pet residence.  He is very cautious about meeting new people, but on his own time line, he warms up to you. 

BEST HOME we believe will be with another single owner.  With his shyness, the more calm and routine his environment, the better he will adapt.

He has been good in foster home with other small dogs and cats.  Oreo met the resident cats and they ignored each other.  He has been playing chase and stealing toys from the dogs.  If you have other pets, it is a good plan to have them meet before finalizing an adoption.

Oreo has the common characteristics of the Chihuahua, territorial with his things and his people, does bark at people or animals near his property but calms down quickly, wants to be with his people, on lap, in bed etc. 

We believe that once he is adjusted (a week or two) he will bond to his adopter and have a forever home.
