Mercury homed himself by dropping into the garage of a family providing food for their cats.  It didn't take long for the conflict to begin as the resident cats did not want to share.  We believe that Mercury has had a home most of his life but has somehow ended up in the country near a creek.

We have made attempts to find owner but he either escaped or was dumped.  He is extremely affectionate, lots of purring.  He does enjoy playing with cat toys and is making progress with the other cats at the shelter.
